Town
Appraisal
And
Town Action
Plan
In 2002 a
very thorough Town Appraisal was carried out in Leiston-cum-Sizewell which
resulted in 1,654 households returning a questionnaire that included the views
of 3,851 residents. These were collated and analysed and, with the help of our
sister authorities and other organisations, a Town Action Plan was produced.
This year
(2009) a public meeting was called to ascertain whether residents wished to have
another really comprehensive consultation carried out to see if the wishes and
concerns, highlighted in 2002, were still relevant. The residents who attended
the meeting felt that the current Action Plan was very likely to be still pertinent
to Leiston and that it would be possibly a better use of time (and money) to
revisit that Action Plan and see what had been achieved and what still needed
done.
The Leiston
and District Community Partnership stepped forward and volunteered to scrutinise
the Action Plan and to report back.
A copy of the
Action Plan can be found at the link below. It is recommended that the Plan be
read in your pdf reader with two pages side by side
for best effect (by virtue of how it was scanned in). Any comments or
observations on the document would be most welcome by email to leistontownclerk@aol.com or by
telephone to 01728 830388.
